Abstract
The study deals with the last presidential election in Venezuela. Author offers the general account of the venezuelan political landscape and it´s changes that occured above all after the firs victory of Hugo Chávez.
Then he analyzes the pre-electoral situation, the strategies empolyed by political actors and the results of the elections. The explanation is embedded in the wider context of the development of political regimes in Venezuela.
