Abstract

The author of the Memoirs ? Josef Lawitschka was born in 1933 in a South Moravian village of Frélichov (nowdays Jevišovka ? Czech Republic). He grew up in a unique linguistic environment where almost everybody spoke Croatian, German and Czech.

After WWII, his family left Czech Republic and fled to Austria where the author still lives. Tho book presents author's memoirs, remebrances of his home village and its traditions, customs and language.

The book is published in a parallel Croatian (dialect) / Czech version complemented by many old photographs.
