The medieval myth about Melusine and the family story of the Luxembourgs

Abstract

The monography treats the Luxembourgs' family story about the Melusine nymph in a complex way. The emphasis is put on the utility of the literary works as a historical source, on the observation of the political aspects of the myth and its use in the medieval heraldry.
