A Spectre or an UnacknowledgedChapter 11 of a collective monograph on S.T.Coleridge's influence in Europe discusses his impact in Czech culture, focusing on the early reception (Karel Sabina), first translations (J.V. Sládek) and their criticisms (F.X. Šalda), on theoretical study of Coleridge's philosophy (René Wellek) and on the persecution of Coleridge's translators (Josef Palivec, Václav Renč) under Communism.
