Abstract
The collections of Emperor Rudolf II were full of marvelous things from all over the world. One of the areas of his interest was represented by the Near East and thus the oriental objects found their way to the Prague Castle.
The article presents the objects, the way they might have been acquired and the possible purpose of the acquisition.
