Hypercalciuria in children

Abstract

Hypercalciuria is a biological syndrome characterized by an increased excretion of calcium in the urine (U-Ca>0,1 mmol/kg/day. It is the most common metabolic disorder in patients with urolithiasis, observed in 40-50% of them.

The most common cause encountered in children is idiopathic hypercalciuria (IH).
