Long-term prognosis after out-of-hospital cardiac arrest with/without ST elevation myocardial infarction

Abstract

Among 560 individuals with 'primary cardiac' etiology out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and initiation of professional cardio-pulmonary resuscitation, 7% survived 3 years. In the subgroup of hospitalized patients with ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) (n=26), 53.9% survived 3 years, in the subgroup without STEMI (n = 123), 19.5%.
