Abstract

It is necessary to stop alcohol intake in patients with chornic alcoholic pancreatitis.
Early endoscopic or surgical treatment of stenosis or oclusions of pancreatic ductus is important. Further destruction of pancreatic tissue might be prevented by this way and its complication, for example a neef of insulin treatment, higher risk of hypoglycemia and progression of microangiopatic complications of diabetes delayed.
