Early adjunct terlipressin effect on heamodynamics during advanced life support (TERCA study)

Abstract

The authors summarize preliminary results of the experimental TERCA study (Terlipressin in Cardiac Arrest) that was prepared to assess adjunct terlipressin effect on vital organ perfusion during long-lasting advanced life support in an animal model of cardiac arrest. The experiment showed statistically significant increase of coronary and cerebral perfusion pressures in the late phase of advanced life support if added to the standard treatment of ventricular fibrillation.
