This paper puts the person of Fr Bonaventura Bouše as a Franciscan Monk, Priest and Theologian in the context of the history of the Czech society, Church and theology of the 2nd half of the 20th century. The Author focuses on several dominant topics in his life and work, esp. on the Bouše?s critical reflexion of the life of the Church and on his activity in the liturgical reform after the Vatican Council II.
The emphasis on sincerity: this is a lasting testament of Bouše?s life and work that, despite the detachment of the Czech theological thought the progress in the universal Church during the Communist regime, does not lose its notable topicality.
