Reason Enlightened by Faith ? Remarks at the problematically Relationship between the Reason and the Revelation in the Texts of Augustin Zippe and others Contemporary Moral-Theologians

Publication |
2009

Abstract

On the example of three emblemata, chosen from the works of Augustin Zippe and Joseph Lauber, the text is concerned with the problem of coherence of moral-theological concepts, based on both the rational knowledge and on the claims consequent upon the revelation. Those questions were often discussed in the catholic Theology of the Period of the Enlightenment, which contributed to the development of the modern conception of Revelation on the one hand, which was so important for the theological thought in the second half of the XX century.

On the other facilitated this discussion the genesis of interesting conceptions in the branch of Moral-Theology, which distinguished themselves by the dialogical relationship to the statements of both contemporary Philosophy and the Protestant Theology.
