Abstract
Several aspects of the work of Vladimir Solovyov are examined in this monograph. The mystical and prophetic aspects are set in a wider framework of his theosophical system, which he developed all his life, and in which one can observe the ?continuity? of his thinking, remaining faithful to the all-unifying attributes of beauty, the good and the truth, and ?discontinuity? in a progressive revealing of new horizons of knowledge, where he was more than once ahead of his time.
Solovyov found in many teachings only fragments of the universal cosmic vision of the world, as revealed to him by Divine Wisdom - Sophia in Egypt. He strove to use the mystic gift in a universal view of the significance of events, where the prophetic nature of his work stood out in the search for unity in all things, and in particular, unity in the Church.
