Abstract

The article explores translation strategies in Czech Romantic translations of Walter Scott's novels. It is interested in possible gender-specific characteristics of two Czech translations of Waverley by women translators, one Romantic (late 19c.), the other 'classical' (from the period of socialist translations of world classics).
