Abstract
Late manifestations of Wilson?s disease are described in the case report of a woman repeatedly examined at various departments for progressing head tremor. The complaints started at the age of 55.
Examinations done did not lead to finding the etiology of the condition, and the therapy did not have any effect. After 7 years from the onset of the problems the patient was examined in our department.
A biopsy revealed a higher level of copper in the liver which led to the final diagnosis of Wilson?s disease. The manifestations of the first signs were late and the clinical manifestations were also atypical.
The casuistry also confirms the rare occurrence of this disorder in elderly patients with etiologically unclear dyskinetic syndrome.
