Abstract

Intraoperative enteroscopy is an invasive method of small bowel investigation. It is performed under narcosis at an operating theatre (i.e. in co-operation with surgeon and anaesthesiologist).

Physician performing endoscopy becomes a member of the operating team. Investigation is performed by sterile endoscope and accessories.

The advantage of the method is the investigation of whole small intestine with possibility of immediate solution of pathological findings by endoscopic or surgical way.The investigation is invasive, correct indication is necessary.
