The most common form of combined hormonal contraception currently include oral preparations. They achieved very good safety and tolerance during development and on the other hand, they have some limits - e.g. common reliability 99% applies only in case of an error-free usage, whereas in real life could be its reliability in the first year of usage significantly lower (92 ? 97%).
Lower reliability is mainly due to insufficient compliance, in terms of irregular usage or non-compliance with the instructions for use in case of medicinal interactions, gastrointestinal complaints, etc.
