Abstract
The book is a review of the latest knowledge on the subject and also a presentation of own experimental and clinical observations. In the first chapter, contemporary methods of tissue replacement in orthopedics are dealt with.
In the experimantal part, tricalciumphosphate and its possible uses are assessed. In the clinical part, a set of 93 persons operated on at the Orthopedic Department in Hradec Králové in the years 1989 2002 is assessed.
Bone tissue replacement healing was followed very carefully by clinical, radiological and scintigraphic means. From the conclusions of the follow-ups, general information is derived.
In a broad discussion, information of contemporary options of bone replacement, a routine problem in orthopedics, is presented and compared with experiences from medical literature.
