The aseptic meningitis caused by drugs

Abstract

Most cases of aseptic meningitis are a manifestation of an infection of central nervous systém (CNS). Aseptic maningitis may, however, be caused by the administration of certain drugs: these are most frequently nobsteroidal anti-rheumatic drugs (NSAIDs), someantibiotics, immunoglobulins, carbamazepine, ranitidine etc.

Once the drug is discontinued, the response spontaneously disappears. The autors submits the case history of two patients presenting with aseptic meningitis, result of drug administration.
