Abstract
Our system was born as a set of static web pages for students. Later, due to an increasing number of materials, the system started to be transformed to a new dynamic system called 'Medikl'.
To develop this system we used the PHP + MySQL platform together with the Xhaven.net hosting server. There was a desire to create a one-purpose simple system without any need for authentication but, as a result of occasional misuse, a basic admin/user system had to be implemented.
During a five year period of a rather discontinuous development a group of the most frequent use cases had been naturally selected and the system was fully adjusted to it. Further development of the system was suspended due to almost no support from the faculty.
However, the system is still running and it is still used by students. Later we used our experience to develop an information system for the Department of Medical Biophysics of which the first version was based directly on Medikl.
