Abstract

Bronchial asthma is the most frequent chronic disease in children. The asthmatic signs appear or get worse especially with viral respiration infection and/or contact with inhaled allergens and irritating substances.

Diagnosis is based on clinical findings, and in compliant children on examination of the pulmonary function with the evidence of its reversibility. In preventive pharmacotherapy of persistent asthma, the drugs to choose are corticoid inhalants.

The precondition for successful therapy is not only an early diagnosis and early treatment, but the the compliance of the patient and his/her family as well.
