Abstract
Only during the last ten to fifteen years have small bowel endoscopy and other novel imaging modalities been integrated into daily routine clinical practice. Nowadays, several endoscopic methods are available.
In this review article, we advocate push-enteroscopy (as a first-line tool) and try to show that push-enteroscopy, wireless capsule endocopy and intra-operative enteroscopy are not competitive but complementary methods.
