Abstract

Preventive oncological gynecological examinations are performed in adult women once a year. Women from the age 45 to 69 years should be sent by a gynecologist or a practitioner for a mammogram scanning once every two years.

A gynecological examination is a part of the dispensary, i.e., active searching of persons who need continuous preventive or medical care which a gynecologist realizes by means of invitation cards for women who are to be examined at prescribed intervals. Provided there is a suspicion of a malignant disease, a female patient should be invited by a registered letter and informed consent concerning possible disease should be asked for.
