Abstract

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy is a severe disease, by estimation 10,000 ? 50,000 carriers of this disease live in the Czech Republic. One fifth of them have an obstruction of the left ventricle outflow tract.

The obstruction is dynamic and is most commonly conditioned by the hypertrophic subaortal part of the septum abnormally in systole by a mitral valve moving forward. It is possible even to encounter with a midcavitary or apic form.

Current mitral regurgitation is also frequent.
