Abstract
The second volume of texts for postgraduate studies brings basic information about the development of ophthalmology - a field of medicine that has gone through marked changes in recent years. Thanks to new microsurgical methods and the latest technical achievements, the approach to treating some eye diseases has changed radically, and ophthalmology has become a rapidly developing surgical branch of medicine.
As a part of this development, the postgraduate studies in medicine takes over the task of preparing the adepts for attestation exams, and to provide information from this branch of medicine to practicing ophthalmologists as well.
