Abstract

Objective of our pilot study was to see short-term effect of combination of soy phytoestrogens, Cimicifuga racemosa and bee products (EstroMenox) on menopausal symptoms of women with climacteric syndrome. Twenty one women between age 46?67 years were given soy phytoestrogen in the dose 140 mg and C.racemosa in the dose 40 mg daily for 12 weeks and pre and posttreatment menopausal symptoms were evaluated using Kupperman index.

The women were folloved up at 4 and 12 weeks after initiation of therapy. There were no side effects of the therapy and 18 women (85,7 %) decided to continue the therapy.

Original combination of soy phytoestrogens, C. racemosa and bee products can reduce menopausal symptoms in climacteric pre-, peri- and postmenopausal women.
