Abstract

The aim of the research is a retrospective analysis of the results and risks in using a long-term, non-functional urinary bladder during kidney transplantation. Groups: 58 patients with either no or minimal diuresis who underwent transplantation during the years 2002?2004 were assessed.

There were 20 women and 38 men, average age was 45.8. Duration of the anuria was on average 43.4 months, the shortest being 12 months.

The group was divided into two subgroups. The first subgroup included patients with renal failure caused by glomerulopathy (chronic glomerular nephritis, polycystosis, etc.) ? 42 patients.

The second subgroup consisted of patients with interstitial nephritis or reflux nephropathy ? 16 patients.
