Unusual cause of GIT bleeding

Abstract

A female patient treated for sideropenic anemia for years, presented hemodynamic heavy bleeding into GIT with melena, where blood loss had to be compensated by 6 transfusions. Gastroscopy and coloscopy examinations were negative, while enteroscopy did not explain the cause either.

On enteroclysis, a voluminous pendular polyp at the ileum was detected, and the patient was indicated for surgery using a peroperation enteroscopy. The postoperation phase was without complications and the patient healed p.p. and was discharged home on the 10th day after the operation.
