Abstract

Physiology of human body is a complex of functions of particular organs. Each of them plays important and specific role, but does not function in the body isolated; individual organs support and influence each other.

Main and for the life essential function of kidneys is excretion of catabolites and water. Kidneys have simultaneously other function: certain substances (e.g. vitamin D, erythropoietin or hormone for production of red blood cells in bone marrow) are synthesised there and they are important for maintenance of acidobasic, water and ion homeostasis.
