Bilateral subrenal obstruction of ureters with signs of acute renal insufficiency is not frequent in middle age female patients of normal health. This disorder is most frequently found in male patients with local advanced carcinoma of the prostate or in female patients after irradiation of the small pelvis for carcinoma of the cervix.
Also, other obstructions of ureters are caused rather by malignant diseases. Obstruction of ureters caused by concrements is rare.
This disorder however, usually followed-up, is symptomatic and thus treated in the long-term.
