Neurocardiogenic response during head up tult test in patients with permanent atrial fibrillation

Publication at First Faculty of Medicine |
2007

Abstract

To evaluate the NCS response during the head-up tilt test in patients with permanent AF. Conclusion: Neurocardiogenic syncopes were induced in 27% of patients with permanent AF, a figure consistent with the prevalence of permanent AF reported in the general population.

Neurocardiogenic syncopes seem to be independent of the presence of the arrhythmia. There is no statistically higher risk of a positive HUT in patients with AF and a history of syncope.
