Abstract

The epidemy of coronary heart disease is responsible for the majority of deaths in all age categories nowadays. The methods of mechanical myocardium revascularization and medicamentous treatment have been refined in the course of time and the symptomatology has been influenced in majority of patients with ischemic heart disease.

Surgical revascularization has favourably influenced the prognosis in patients with the affection of the left coronary artery trunk, the proximal part of ramus interventricularis anterior as well as with the affection of three arteries and a decreased function of the left ventricle. The revascularization of the myocardium with the use of coronary bypass has been replaced with coronary angioplasty in the ratio of 1:3 nowadays.
