Capsule endoscopy - initial experience in the Czech Republic: a retrospective multi-centre study

Abstract

Capsule endoscopy (CE), using a Given Imaging system, is available in the Czech Republic since late 2002. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the existing experience with CE in five gastroenterology centers in the Czech Republic.

Seventhy-eight CE were recieved (Nov 2002-Apr 2004), 38 men, 40 women (mean age 54). CE was indicated as the last step in diagbostic algorithm.
