Abstract

Results of therapy of 166 patients suffering from glottic carcinoma of the larynx stage T1 and T2 are evaluated in the study. The patients were treated at the clinic in the period of 1980-2000.

Monitoring time from the operation was 3-23 yrs. The mean age of pts was 35-91, proportion of men and women was 12:1.

The whole set was divided into two subgroups. Patients over 70 yrs old formed 20 % of the set (34 patients) and 132 patients were younger than 70.

Comparing the results of the therapy depending on age we can say that oncological therapy can be successful in older patients over 70 as in younger patients.
