Current state and perspectives of the Czech Menopause and Andropause Society and of the journal Climacteric Medicine
Abstract
In the year 2005, we will celebrate 10th anniversary of establishing the Society for Questions on Menopause (SOM) and ensuing activities of the Section for Questions on Menopause of the Czech Gynecological and Obstetrical Society ČLS JEP, and Czech Menopause and Andropause Society ČLS JEP (ČMAS), founded at the congress in Prague on the World Day of Menopause on 18.October 2002. Next year will be a time for balancing our most successful activities.
We have organizes 6 international scientific conferences (three of them in Prague ? 1996, 1998, 2000, two in Hradec Králové ? 2002, 2003, in Ostrava (2004) and 4 interdisciplinary nationwide conference in Ostrava (1996, 2001) and in Olomouc (1999). We have been editing the journal Climacteric Medicine for 9 years, and we established a counseling phone line called ?Climacteric line? for both the lay and professional public in the Czech Republic.
All these activities were made possible with the help of pharmaceutical firms.
