Abstract

Changes of cholinesterase (Ache) activities in the hypophysis and brain (frontal cortex, hippocampus, medial septum and basal ganglia) as well as in the plasma and liver following galanthamine administration were studied in rats pretreated with L-carnitine. Following galanthamine administration the Ache activities decreased in the tissues.

Pretreatment with L-carnitine showed higher Ache inhibition, statistically significant difference was observed in hippocampus, only
