Abstract

Malnutrition in Crohn's disease is multifactorial and can include decreased food intake, malabsorption, bacterial overgrowth syndrome, short bowel syndrome, maldigestion, increased energy expenditure, smoking, and loss of nutrients. Deficiency syndromes and metabolic bone disease are special problems.
