Problem of diagnostic and treatment of spinal metastasis

Abstract

Delayed determination of the correct diagnosis, and due to it delayed start of the adequate treatment, is a limitation for successful results of the treatment of metastatic disease of the spine. Knowledge about case history of the patient treated for malignant tumor and a detailed clinical examination must be the base for diagnosis.

Radiological imaging methods help in exact assessment of localization and the extent of metastatic spinal affliction. Neurological symptoms of starting spinal compression must be a signal for the physician for fast diagnosis completing of ailment origin and beginning of the corresponding treatment.

At present question how to operate up is not agenda of the day, but to indicate for surgical treatment the patients, who will benefit from the operation. It is necessary to adjoin correctly adequate surgical treatment to the type of tumor affliction.
