Authors describe an observation of squamous laryngeal carcinoma in unrelated married couple. Both partners had in the past history long-term unsuitable working environment (in the case of man, it was dry and dusty environment in glass works and metal welding, in wife it was the work in dry cleaning shop with perchlorethylene).
No of the mentioned factors does not belong to the directly recognized tumorigenic risks of laryngeal carcinoma. The observation is discussed from the view of probability calculus and possibility of random occurrence.
In the end, authors state that in the medical documentation of departments of pathology and oncology is no possibility to find any information about health status of marital partners.
