Periodontal diseases and possibilities of their prevention

Abstract

Periodontal diseases are very frequent. Recent statements about their aethiology demonstrate the importance of periodontal pathogens.

The author stress as basic principle of mechanical desintegration of dental plaque. The microorganisms floating in the saliva can become easily attact by antimicrobial agents enhancing effect of mechanical cleaning procedures.
