Abstract
Systematic description of the occurrences of "parrot? (kiLi - 66x, kiLLai -13x) in Sangam literature and of the formulas in which the words occur. Anthropomorphic contexts and some parallels in Sanskrit and Prakrit literature are briefly discussed.
