Biological activity and clinical implications of the matrix metalloproteinases

Abstract

This paper aims to briefly summarize current knowledge about the role of MMPs in select non-tumorous lesions, tumor invasion and metastasis. The perspectives in therapeutic intervention in cancer are also mentioned.
