Abstract
The requirements posed on teachers´competences are not only on the rise, but also see crucial qualitative changes. To ensure that Faculties where future teachers are trained meet the requirements posed on teachers at the beginning of the 21st century, they have to do major innovations and gradually search for new and more efficient approaches to the training of future teachers.
The article discusses selected innovations introduced by the Czech Literature Department of the Faculty of Education of Charles University in Prague.
