Clinical important beta-lactamases of Gram-negative bacteria: extended spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBL)

Abstract

Beta-lactamases are the commonest cause of a resistance of gram-negative bacteria to beta-lactam antimicrobial agents. Extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs) are the major group of these enzymes.

This review is focused on the problems of ESBL.
