Abstract
The topic of this monograph is social gerontology: demography, image of old age in history and contenporary social and health politics, psychology of seniors. It deals with the issues of ageism, sexuality in the old age, successful aging und health of aging people,development of gerontology in the world and in the Czech Republic, institutional care in history and present time, family care, geriatric nursing, thanatology.
