The First Poem about Creation (Gen 1:1—2:4a) and its Czech translations

Abstract

The survey examines modern Czech translations of the Bible’s Creation story in Gen 1:1 – 2,3. The exegesis of the Hebrew original text is compared to both ancient (Septuagint and Vulgate) and medieval Czech Bible translations as well as to the three recent Czech translations.
