Abstract

Baltic region became in the 13th century area of interest for different competing powers. Many contradictory opinions have been published on this topic.

The most researchers argue, that there was a deep religious and ideological hostility between the East and the West. Selart decided to deal with known events, confront sources and different conceptions and reconsider traditional interpretations.
