Relationships between (1) a count of elements of a collection, (2) the abstract concept of number, and (3) representation of numbers in form of numerals. Ephasized are cognitive aspects of these relationships.
On the base of case studies of autistic numeral savants a question is posed, whether humans are able to see even larger counts at a glance. A graphical representation of numbers is speculatively proposed in the form of planar curves.
A simple visual algorithm is suggested for prime number detection.
