Comparing Body Composition, Speed Endurance and Strength Endurance in the National Ice Hockey Academic Team by the 30s Anaerobic Wingate Test

Abstract

The research aims to provide a comparison of the body composition with the anaerobic output in the Wingate test performed by ice hockey players. The research is to provide analysis of the correlation between the Wingate test performance and higher physical weight of the players.Values of these parameters were calculated in kilograms of the body weight (BW), and were further mathematically and statistically analyzed and compared to the lean body mass and total BW of the persons tested.

Pearson's correlation between BW and Pmax absolute and relative values, and correlation between active body mass and absolute and relative values of the acaerobic capacity were calculated. The results obtained through the Pearson's correlation imply there is a low correlation (r = 0.12) between BW and Pmax/kg BW and AnC and AnC/kg BW.

These values indicate that players with higher BW have no advantage over the others. The values can be thus used for interindividual test assessment
