Abstract
Daodejing is one of the most widely translated Chinese text. This article compares three Czech translations (Frant. Čupr - 1878, R.
Dvořák - 1920, Berta Krebsová - 1971), focusing on differences in overall interpretation of the meaning. These are studied from the point of view of larger historical context as well as personal moral values of the translators.
