Abstract

The text introduces a part of a research project on crucial psychological characteristics of emerging adulthood. It particularly focuses on social skills development in the course of this developmental period.

The sample consisted of more than three thousand respondents who filled in the Social Skills Inventory (SSI) and the Inventory of the Dimensions of Emerging Adulthood (IDEA). Results were analyzed via Pearson’s correlation coefficient and they implicated links between certain social skills abilities and typical features of the emerging adulthood.
